The best tv show ever?

For the past 2 weeks, I've been hearing about the new show on Fox called Glee. I finally decided to check it out. (They've only showed the pilot episode and the rest won't be on until the fall) I can't remember ever having been quite so excited about a tv show. It's funny, sarcastic, little dramatic, a lot tongue in cheek, and the ending moved me so much I was in tears. (Those that have seen it may laugh at that, but I did grow up following a show choir everywhere if that helps explain it:) Go watch it. Please. Because if this show gets cancelled I'll be so bummed.

Because she will probably kill me if I don't hurry up...

I shot some pictures for my very best friend in the entire world a few weeks ago of she and her fiance. And I have yet to show her any. I suspect she might start scouting out hitmen if I don't hurry up, so here are a few.

I hate trying to choose a post title.

Really. I hate trying to come up with a title. Anyway.

Life is pretty boring here in the middle of nowhere...the most exciting thing that's happened is I got hit with some very strange virus that knocked me completely out of commission for 5 days. Two doctor visits, 2 bottles of Ibuprofen, 1 bottle of LARGE antibotics, 2 throat cultures, 1 nose culture (yuck) and 1 urinalysis later they decide I had a weird bacteria or virus. It was without a doubt the sickest I've ever been in my entire life. I'm feeling a lot better now, but I really have to watch it still because I get drained pretty fast.

We did go see Star Trek and it was completely awesome. I highly recommend it.

I've taken lots of pictures..I shot some for my best friend of she and her fiance, took some prom photos of some gorgeous kids, and lots of the kiddo.  Scrapped a couple pages. And since I really have nothing else to say, as usual, here are the layouts, and some pics. Have a good week!

Mouth

Above page all about my childs loud mouth. Oh, and just her mouthy nature.

Surprise!

The surprise is not for Ayla, it was for Mommy. After taking 300 pics

this day, I actually got a couple of her looking at the camera. She

usually hates it.

Little late to be posting this, but it's a May Day basket I made for Prima. It's hanging in Ayla's room right now and I just love it. One of my favorite projects to date, and super easy and fun to make.

Ayla2

My cute, precious and newly POTTY TRAINED 2 year old. She took to it like a champ and it only took about a week. Probably could have happened sooner had Mom got her stuff together sooner. I'm so proud of my kiddo.

I keep buying Ayla swimsuits. It's becoming a problem. Not quite as bad as my P.J. buying fetish, but close.

Have a good week everyone!

New favorite.

I recently had the opportunity to create with the new Donna Downey Fabric Album from Prima. It was a ton of fun and thankfully my sewing machine decided to cooperate for a couple days. Then it promptly returned to it's usual cranky self. Here's the cover, you can See the rest here.

Get messy.

For NSD, I hosted a Get Messy challenge over at Scrap in style. Basically, I wanted the paint and ink and sprays to fly all over. But really, my whole point was to just let go. I really think that we are our own worst enemy when it comes to creating. I know I have the hardest time just letting go; not agonizing over the placement of every little bead or button, not asking myself if other people will like it, if the magazines will want to publish it, on and on and on. But when I can finally just stop, and be still and listen to what my heart is telling me and place this paper here simply because I like it or place this photo there because it just feels right, then I've got it. And the end result will be beautiful, even if to noone else but me, simply because I made it. And that's enough for me.

Lovely weekend.

We had such a great weekend. We took Ayla to the zoo Saturday for the very first time, I think she really enjoyed it. She kept saying "bye bye animal" the rest of the weekend because she wanted to go back.

My husband went on vacation. Or, his version...which is sitting in the garage with his new laptop and three televisions watching the NFL draft. Yes, he's silly.

We had great weather, spent a lot of time outside...I cooked some really yummy stuff, especially these twice baked potatoes from Pioneer Woman. You need to try them, they are so good and kind of fun to make, though not low-cal AT ALL.

And of course, I got some scrapping done. Here's a card I made using the new American Crafts Character line.

AC hi card

I'll leave you with some fun photos from our weekend.

My sewing machine is no longer my worst enemy.

HA! I think I FINALLY, after almost 3 years of owning it, have figured out how to make my sewing machine work. I got it for Christmas but it only worked for about 6 months and then I just got frustrated and gave up; occasionaly trying again once in a while. I tried again Friday and it's working! There is a catch though; I can't get it to do a zigzag stitch at all; the needle will go back and forth like it's trying to do it but then it seems like the bobbin thread doesn't catch on the second row. Either way, I'm excited I can at least do a line stitch. I can guarantee every page for about the next four months will have stitching on it, if I can keep it working. Does anyone have any sewing tips to share? I will welcome any and all since I really have no clue what I'm doing.

Here's a new American Crafts page; I stitched all the green ribbon down. Also....do you see those flowers? That mystery bush? If anyone has any idea what those are please let me know....we have a ton of them in our side yard, they're really tiny and grow in little clumps on these small bushes. They only bloom for a very short time in the spring, and the flowers close as soon as the sun starts to go down. They have either white or purple flowers. I've asked a gajillion people and noone knows what these are. All I know is that I love them.

I have to share these pics of Ayla from today....she went outside with Daddy and was puddle jumping. She loves to play in the rain, especially when it's warm enough to be barefoot. She looks so different to me with her hair down and kinda crazy and curly from the rain....and she's realllly thinking about becoming a redhead like Nana and Uncle Jeff.

Out of the box.

Recently I've been asked to work on some projects that were pretty out of the box for me.

The Prima and Tattered Angels teams have been working on some projects...I got to work with some Glimmer Mist. I've worked with it once or twice before, but only in small doses. I didn't really realize how much you can do with it, and how much fun it could be.

Images of inspiration

Ayla hanger

Danielle Thompson asked if I'd guest design for Kitschy Digitals, and I have never, ever, not one day in my life worked with digi. But I absolutely could not say no. I really love the stuff she's made for Kitschy Digitals, but more importantly she is without a doubt the person who's scrapbooking inspired me more than anyone else. So I cheated; I printed out the elements and cut them out. I also printed some of her papers, and I love this idea because I'll never run out; I can just re-print if I want more. The layout is my friend and fellow F-girl Nikki...she is so much fun to be around and that picture is just so her. The hanger I made for Ayla's room, it's all paper, even the background. It was a little difficult to wrap the paper on the hoop; the thinner the paper the better. I tried printing on cardstock and using that as my background first but it was way too thick.

It's Friday...

and I am officially, along with Brad, on Spring Break for 10 days. Speaking of the husband, he just yesterday found out he got the job he's been working toward for years, and I am so proud of him. (That was the news, sorry...no baby:) A whole week with my family, painting my kitchen, scrapping up a storm, Easter dinner at our house with almost all of our loved ones. It's a pretty good day.
